Hey Everyone,
Today's post is my first thoughts on Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream, Its becoming an increasingly popular choice with beauty lovers and is often used by Nicola (one half of the Amazing Pixiwoo sisters), even making it to her top ten winter products HERE!
I have to say I found it quite hard to get hold of I'm not sure if that's because it was sold out or if it just wasn't stocked but, it wasn't available in my local boots and many chemists. Eventually I found it in a dusty corner of an old chemist just around the corner from my house (which doesn't say much for the product). It was around €11 for the cream which I thought was quite reasonable if, it lived up to all the hype!
Oilatum says: "An innovative new therapy specially formulated to intensively nourish and help repair your skin's natural barrier. Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream penetrates deeply to re hydrate facial skin relieving tightness and irritation and leaving it feeling smooth.
Suitable for dry and sensitive skins.
Free from fragrances, preservatives, and emulsifiers."
As I've said before I actually have combination skin, some people might find it strange that I actually went for this product in the first place because its normally used by people with very dry skin. However my combination skin means that I have Normal patches, oily patches, but also some very dry patches especially around the tops of my cheeks and around my eyebrows. My skin can also feel very tight and itchy after cleansing which makes it feel uncomfortable.
My Plan was to use this as my night cream therefore repairing the dry patches and uncomfortable tightness during the night and, if it was really heavy and too much for my combination skin I would be cleansing it in the morning anyway. The first night I got it I went through my normal routeen and applied it as my night cream... It felt fairly greasy when first applied, I rubbed it in, and then went to bed. When I woke up in the morning I expected a greasy residue but there was none it had sunk into my skin getting rid of the dry patches and leaving it baby soft I was amazed! It felt so amazing! I've been using it for a little while now and it still feels incredibly soft, it also has not done what other heavy moisturizers have done to me in the past and clogged my pores so i'm delighted that's not happened.
All in all I'm super happy with this product and I will keep using it as my night cream as long as it keeps working for me! its great value for money as you get 50ml of product that actually makes a difference to the skin! On really bad days where my skin feel really uncomfortable I've even been using it as my day moisturizer, as the initial greasy feeling soaks in really quickly and it sits really well under makeup (I would recommend leaving it to set for a while before applying makeup)!
Have you tried this moisturizer? or other products by Oilatum?
