Hey Everyone,
For a long long time I've been raving about how much I love Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer! As I have pale skin I think its the perfect delicate, subtle colour, for contouring. However a firm favourite with beauty's everywhere is Benefits Hoola Bronzer, so I thought I'd do a bit of a comparison for you!
Packaging:
Both the Benefit and the Bourjois bronzer come in a hard card packaging. The Bourjois in a book style, flip to open packaging, Without a Mirror! This doesn't bother me too much as I rarely use the mirrors in products anyway, and if the product is good I don't really care too much about the packaging (as long as its doing its job to contain the product)!
The Benefit bronzer comes in a box (like all their cheek products) Its a slightly more luxurious than the bourjois, and it also comes with a mirror and a brush. The brush is OK, but I never use them anyway!
Colour:
In the pan Hoola looks slightly darker, however when swatched the bronzer's are very nearly identical! Benefit's Hoola being very slightly more yellowy toned!
Pigmentation:
Both are matte bronzer's, which means they are both really wearable on anyone! Both also have equally good pigmentation/colour pay off. For the price of the product Bourjois definitely matches Benefit on the pigmentation of its bronzer!
Smell:
Some people say they can't smell anything off the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer but I definitely get a strong chocolaty smell off it which is amazing! An added bonus is that it smells so nice when applying it but the smell doesn't linger, or make your face smell of chocolate! The Benefit product doesn't smell of anything!
Swatches:
Price:
Benefit Hoola - around €34
Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer - around €9
My Verdict:
They both have great pigmentation, both similar shades, both Matte, and most importantly for me... both are subtle enough for pale skin like mine!
Although I think Hoola is an amazing product (and I do love Benefit!) for me the price difference is just too much and I would definitely repurchase the Bourjois product over Benefit because of this!
Have you tried either product? Which one is your favourite?
