Lipstick Loves: Creating The Perfect Matte Red Lip

Hey Everyone,

there is currently a few different brands offering matte lipsticks but in reality I can find them difficult to apply and drying on the lips... Here is my alternative method of creating the perfect matte lip:

• I like to use a lip liner (Maybelline Colorsensational 132 Sweet Pink) to create a neat outline, I also like to use liner to help prevent the colour from bleeding.
• To apply the lipstick (Sleek Cherry) I use a lip brush I really like this one from Blank Canvas (L29) it gives you a bit more precision and you can build on the colour a lot easier by patting the colour onto the lip. 
• To create the matte effect I then take a small brush and some mattifying powder I use Rimmel Stay Matte in 001 transparent, but loose powder is even better. Only a small amount is needed, press it onto the lips then blend with the brush or blot with a tissue and there you have your perfect matte lip for A/W!
